OR.........................

I can get my ass off the couch, turn off the TV, keep going to work, pay my Bill's, continue to educate myself, educate my daughter, use my current and future acquired knowledge to contribute something good, use my voice to spread the word.

What word?

Mine. Why? Haven't I already established that my word doesn't matter? That I alone can't do anything. I'm not important enough to make a difference. I really did believe that. I'm noone.

Is that true? Do you believe that? Should I believe that because I don't have enough likes? Or because noone reads it at all? Do you believe it doesn't matter because noone else can hear you? I did. So I stopped.

It would be incredibly easy to just fade into the background. Easily forgotten by most. I'm just one person.

I started actually reading a book last week. I haven't read a book, especially anything nonfiction, in a very long time. 6 hours, ONLY 6 hours of reading helped me realize something I have known all my life but was conditioned out of me at an early age.

I matter. So do you. So does the homeless, possibly drug addicted, guy who stands on the corner begging for money. We don't have to make huge dramatic changes. Just changing one thing is good enough for now. Then when you can, take another.

This is my first step.
